A home care nurse aide provides basic health care in a patient’s home. They assist with routine healthcare needs, bedside care and basic nursing procedures. Additionally students are provided the opportunity to use the theory in practical clinical experiences. They play a vital role in the health care team. Students must pass the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s certification exam for long term care aides prior to enrolling in this major.

Student Organization
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) is a service organization for high school and adult students of industrial programs. HOSA provides opportunities for students to enhance their personal and leadership qualities through individual and group projects and through skill competitions which are held on local, state, and national levels.
