Mission

  • Wes Watkins Area Vo-Tech Foundation exist to provide resources benefiting the students.
  • Support of the Foundation is an investment in our students, our school, and our communities.
  • Our community benefits from the accomplishments of our students, staff, and the economic incentive of being associated with a top-quality educational system.
  • Our purpose is to promote and support excellence in teaching and learning. Limited funding for education means limited opportunities for our students. To accomplish an atmosphere of opportunity for learning, the Foundation wants to fund, through contributions, students and programs which will benefit our district.
  • To achieve this purpose, the foundation raises funds to support a permanent endowment. The investment income earned from the endowment fund plus other non-designated contributions will be used to pay for students educational projects, grants, and scholarships approved by the Foundation's trustees.
  • The immediate financial goal for the endowment is $100,000.00. Please take this opportunity to make a difference and join us in supporting Wes Watkins Area Vo-Tech Foundation where we are... "Building Today on Tomorrow's Dreams"
  • The Wes Watkins Area Vo-Tech Foundation is based on the concept that vocational education can be endowed in the same spirit as higher education through a broad based system of district support. Since that time we have received approval as a broad based nonprofit, publicly supported foundation, with the IRS 501 (c) (3) designation. This designation allows the contributor to take full benefit of the tax advantage offered by supporting a sanctioned foundation.
  • The Foundation exist outside the formal operational boundaries of the career tech system, but in conformance with the Board of Education's goals and objectives. Funds will be kept in the Foundation's accounts and will in no way become part of the general fund.
  • The Foundation is governed by by-laws and a Board of Trustees. Board members are selected to represent a cross section of our district and receive no compensation for this privilege.
