Wes Watkins Technology Center held its annual completion ceremony Tuesday, May 6th, at 7:00 p.m., in the WWTC Seminar Center. Family members and guests are invited. A reception was held after the ceremony.
Eighty-eight completers were presented with certificates. Other awards presented included the Outstanding Program Completers and the George B. & Mary E. Williams Scholarship awards. The highest honor, the WWTC Outstanding Student of the Year award, went to Lena Hearrell, a Surgical Technology Student from Seminole. First runner-up was David Garlett, a Construction Trades Technology student from Holdenville. Second runner-up was a three-way tie between Joslyn Alcorn, a Health Careers Certification student from Holdenville; Joshua Kissee, a Surgical Technology student from Wetumka; and Kendra Lucas, an Adult Health Careers Certification student from Weleetka..
Two awards assemblies were also held May 6th, during the day. The first assembly was held at 8:30 a.m. for morning students and the other at 12:30 p.m. for afternoon students. Program awards included A.M. Student of the Year, P.M. Student of the Year and special awards presented by instructors. Students were also recognized for perfect attendance and other special achievements.
