2009 Partners For Progress Award
McAlester Regional Health Center

WWTC recognized McAlester Regional Health Center (MRHC) as its Partners for Progress during the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) Summer Conference held August 4-6 in Oklahoma City.

MRHC has been instrumental in the success of WWTC's health care students. The hospital allows practical nursing and surgical technology students to rotate through their facility for clinical experience and it has donated countless hours of preceptorship training for students. The hospital has also donated used equipment to the Surgical Technology class making it possible for students to use up-to-date equipment for authentic surgical demonstration and to provide hands-on training before entering the clinical site.

The partnership gives students the opportunity to put their knowledge and skills to use with patients and it makes the student better prepared for the workplace.
