General Information
Students in the Computerized Information Technology (CIT) program at Wes Watkins Technology Center (WWTC) prepare for the workplace by performing live-work projects and by participating in On-the-Job Experience (OJE) or internship . Live-work projects have includ ed developing promotional video presentations and designing brochures for businesses and special events. Through OJE/internship, students observe and experience the actual duties of a particular occupation and learn first-hand what it is like to work on a business site. They a re able to use their knowledge that they have learned in the classroom and apply their skills such as customer service, data entry, filing and business software applications.
Computerized Information Technology combines both information and business technology courses by completing the core areas of study.

The program is an open-entry/open-exit, designed for high school students (grades 11-12) and adults. The courses allow for individualized study through the use of learning activity packets or LAPS.
Throughout the course special guests are invited to make professional presentations which assist students in determining what is expected by businesses today. Discussions concerning dress for success, stress management and interviewing techniques give the Career Tech graduate an advantage when applying for employment.

College Credit
The CIT program has been approved and qualifies for college credit through cooperative agreements with OSU/Okmulgee, Seminole State College and Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. Adult students may receive college credits for application toward an associate in applied science degree. High school students may receive advanced standing credit for their career and technology education courses after successfully completing 12 credit hours on the campus and paying the minimal transcription fees.
Student Organization
Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a service organization for students who are enrolled in information technology programs. BPA gives members the opportunity to enhance their leadership qualities through individual and group projects and through skill competitions which are held on a state and national level.
