Oklahoma's CareerTech system is introducing a new way for students to get a great education!
With the implementation of Career Clusters, Career Pathways, Career Majors and Career Courses students will be better
prepared
for career success by being able to relate their educational experiences to their future career goals.
The Career Cluster framework
will produce a technical workforce for new and emerging industries.
Beginning in the 2008-2009 school year, students will choose a Career Major instead of a Program.
But what do these new terms mean??
Career Clusters are broad occupational groupings of specific industry-based jobs. They provide a way for schools to organize instruction and student experiences around sixteen broad categories that encompass virtually all occupations from entry through professional levels. WWTC offers 25 Career Majors in 5 different Clusters!
