WES WATKINS TECHNOLOGY CENTER FOUNDATION

"Building Today on Tomorrow's Dreams"

VISION
To provide avenues of assistance promoting educational and personal advancement.

PURPOSE
Strengthen the ability of Wes Watkins Technology Center to enrich and enhance the quality of education for our students.

MISSION
Wes Watkins Area Vo-Tech Foundation exists to provide resources benefiting the students.

SUPPORT
of the Foundation is an investment in our students, our school, and our communities.

STUDENTS
benefit from monetary assistance through grants and academic awards.

Our COMMUNITY
benefits from the accomplishments of our students, staff, and the economic incentive of being associated with a top-quality educational system.

Our PURPOSE
is to promote and support excellence in teaching and learning. Limited funding for education means limited opportunities for our students. To accomplish an opportunity for learning, the Foundation wants to fund students and programs which will benefit our district.

To ACHIEVE
this purpose, the Foundation raises funds to support a permanent endowment. The investment income earned from the endowment fund plus other non-designated contributions will be used to pay for students' educational projects, grants, and scholarships approved by the Foundation's trustees.

The immediate financial goal for the endowment is $100,000.00. Please take this opportunity to make a difference and join us in supporting Wes Watkins Area Vo-Tech Foundation.

HISTORY
The Wes Watkins Area Vo-Tech Foundation is based on the concept that career and technical education can be endowed in the same spirit as higher education through a broad based system of district support. The Foundation was incorporated in the state of Oklahoma on March 4, 1996. Since that time we have received approval as a broad based non-profit, publicly supported foundation, with the IRS 501(c)(3) designation. This designation allows the contributor to take full benefit of the tax advantage offered by supporting a sanctioned foundation.

The Foundation exists outside the formal operational boundaries of the system, but in conformance with the Board of Education's goals and objectives. Funds will be kept in the Foundation's accounts and will in no way become part of the general fund.

The Foundation is governed by by-laws and a Board of Trustees. Trustees are selected to represent a cross section of our district and receive no compensation for this privilege.
