How to Apply for Financial Aid

The FAFSA asks for information about you (your name, date of birth, address, etc.) and about your financial situation. Depending on your circumstances (for instance, when you filed taxes or what tax form you used), you might need additional information or documents as you fill out the FAFSA.


Go to and create a FAFSA ID.

You can create an FSA ID when logging into the FAFSA website.

  1. Enter your log-in information.
  2. Provide your e-mail address, a unique username, and password, and verify that you are at least 13 years old.
  3. Enter your personal information.
  4. Provide your Social Security number, name, and date of birth.
  5. Include your mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, and language preference.
  6. For security purposes, provide answers to five challenge questions.
  1. Submit your FSA ID information.
  2. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  3. Verify your e-mail address. (Note: By verifying your e-mail address, you can use your e-mail address as your username when logging into certain ED websites. This verification also allows you to retrieve your username or reset your password without answering challenge questions.)
  4. Complete the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) in print or online at
  5. Identify WWTC as your school code choice on the FAFSA application. WWTC Federal Code is 026005

  • If you do not have access to a computer, contact the WWTC Financial Aid Officer and she will make you an appointment to use WWTC's Assessment Center.

    • Call the U.S. Department of Education toll-free at: 1-800-4FEDAID (1-800-433-3243); and
